A Book Giveaway for Fall!

Sketch of our  poet this term,  Eleanor Farjeon, by Edward Ardizonne from The Little Bookroom
BOOKS
by Eleanor Farjeon

What worlds of wonder are our books!
As one opens them and looks,
New ideas and people rise
In our fancies and our eyes.

The room we sit in melts away,
And we find ourselves at play
With some one who before the end,
May become our chosen friend.

Or we sail along the page
To some other land or age.
Here's our body in the chair,
But our mind is over there.

Each book is a magic box
Which with touch a child unlocks.
In between their outside covers
Books hold all things for their lovers.

This sweet poem by Eleanor fits nicely with a book giveaway, don't you think?  Once again, I've been pruning my shelves and have some books to pass along. How to win?  Many ways.  But first, here are the eight books.

One of the things this giveaway helps me  bring attention to is my consulting service.  I am finishing up my 8th month of this service and I have enjoyed it so much! It is rewarding to come alongside other families and help them implement a CM education in their lives.   I've learned a few things along the way, too.  For instance, I should only accept one consult per week in order to keep my own life in order and practice what I preach - this life of learning.  Also, a plethora of requests came in right before school started.  I should have seen that one coming!

The line-up and guidelines are below.  I look forward to hearing from each of you!

Papa Small in English, French, and Spanish!

sweet and simple Lenski

Thomas Jefferson from the collectible North Star series

picture study resource!  Benjamin West by Henry and Dennis

favorite series

classic work for living science
We have a winner!  Congratulations to Maggie!

The giveaway will stay open for 2 weeks with the entry deadline at 12:00 a.m. on November 9th.

"A little library, growing every year, is an honorable part of a man's history.  It is a man's duty to have books.  A library is not a luxury, but one of the necessaries of life.  Be certain that your house is adequately and properly furnished - with books rather than with furniture.  Both if you can, but books at any rate." - Henry Ward Beecher (1813-1887)
