A Christmas Prayer

I salute you! There is nothing I can give you which you have not; but there is much that, while I cannot give, you can take.

No heaven can come to us unless our hearts find rest in it today.
Take Heaven.

No peace lies in the future which is not hidden in this present instant.
Take peace.

The Gloom of the world is but a shadow; behind it, yet within our reach is joy.
Take Joy!

And so, at this Christmas time, I greet you, with the prayer that for you, now and forever, the day breaks and the shadows flee away.

Praying for the families,

I first read this Christmas prayer in Take Joy! The Tasha Tudor Christmas Book .  Here is more information about the prayer.

  1. I love the photos of the pop-up nativity! Did you take them yourself, Nancy?

  2. My dd15 likes to experiment with her camera. It's not exactly a pop-up, but this sweet set I bought at an antique store (for a lot less!) http://www.ebay.com/itm/Christmas-Nativity-Manger-Set-743-Cardboard-Construction-/271124485635?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3f20475603

    Merry Christmas, Kelly!
